A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, completely covering the face of the Sun. The sky will become dark and viewers in certain areas will be able to experience a total solar eclipse. The next time to experience a total solar eclipse in the United States won’t be till 2044.
